Jenny’s Speech at the launch of the Jentle Childbirth Foundation, Thursday 26 June 2008

This is amazing. I am so overwhelmed that you are all here tonight.

Tonight is the night we launch the Jentle Childbirth Foundation, a new charity that developed out of a shared passion to influence the direction of maternity care.

It is the passion of one midwife who has shared the passion of so many pregnancy journeys. I am so honoured many of you are here tonight. It is about trust, understanding, kindness and laughter. It is about dancing together with a recipe for birth that is constantly changing and adapting to suit individual needs. It is simply what dreams are made of.

It was a wonderful night and lovely to see so many people at our launch party. Many thanks to everyone who supported us. The event was completely sold out and with the auction we raised over £15,000 pounds which is a great start for us. There will be pictures on the site soon and further updates. Many thanks to everyone who helped arrange the night, gave items for the auction and attended. If you leave us your email address we shall let you know when the photos are up.

Well its getting really exciting with the preparations nearly finished for the launch party. We have got a great list of items for the auction, we will be posting the list online soon. It promises to be a fun night and we shall be putting the photos up after the event.
